Original Due Date; surprise in the mail; other news

Well it just so happens that today is the day i was supposed to be in the hospital giving birth to my daughter; but instead I found myself cleaning my dogs room (so she can't get on the washer), and putting up the shelf for the microwave. I feel very well accomplished for the most part.

I didn't cry once today that is until i checked the mail and from the Virginia Medical Center I received a card/letter.


"Dear Ms. Bennett
I am very sorry to learn about the loss of your baby. On behalf of the Eastern Virginia Perinatal Council, please accept our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Understandably, this is a very difficult time.


I would like to invite you to take part in an important Virginia Department of Health program. The purpose of this program is to learn about the deaths of babies in our region, so that we can identify ways to help families such as yours in the future. I try to talk to each family in the community that has experienced the tragedy of an infant death. 


I would like to make an appointment to visit you and hear you and your baby's story. I can come to your home or meet you somewhere, at a time that is convenient. It should take 1-2 hours of your time. This visit will give you a chance to talk about your pregnancy, and your experiences surrounding the loss of your baby, the services you received and the ones you may have wished for. 


I hope you will choose to take part in this program. By doing so, you may help improve the services and care for mothers and babies in Hampton Roads. 


I will be contacting you by phone in the next few weeks to see if you are interested and how you are doing. Again, I am very sorry for your loss. Thank you for your time!

And i also received a little booklet "IT'S OK!" that i can carry with me that has little things like "Tears cleanse your soul and warm your cheeks. Cry..... It's OK" "You may feel Guilt. It's OK.". And last but not least I was given a bracelet that has the December birthstone turquoise meaning success and harmony. And in that sense Laken was successful in making a family whole and bringing about so much love and will forever be in harmony with the angels. 


And in other news in my life after being tested for so many things from factor V to lupus antibodies. 
The results
Factor V --Positive heterozygous mutation
Lupus antibodies--Negative
antiphospholipid --Negative
Anemia-- very slight when taking iron pills
The Verdict I will only have to take a daily low dose aspirin when i become pregnant again. But will be watched closely to determine if i will need heparin shots.  And if my mother develops a DVT before i become pregnant or during then I will receive the shots. 
So heres to all my prayers that my mom doesn't get a DVT and all I will need is baby aspirin to make it through the next pregnancy safely and be bringing home a well baby.
